Quite a few additions were made to the website.  First, the New Florence Volunteer Fire Department will have their monthly sub sale on March 7th.  The monthly rippie party is delayed a week to March 14th.  The normally scheduled date conflicted with another fundraiser in the area.  I hope everyone follows the fire department on Facebook.  Over the last several weeks they’ve been posting a lot of old photographs of fire department memories.  One is included below that shows the fire apparatus in 1969.  The fire department will also be hosting a drag queen bingo on May 1st.  It’s not your average bingo.  Also, the Ligonier Valley Varsity Football team will have another sub sale on Saturday, March 14th.  After that, the Florence Community Library has two Make ‘N Take Essential Oil Workshops upcoming that have been added to the Calendar.  Next, the New Florence VFW Post 7622 will be having a St. Patrick’s Day Dance on March 7th.  The dance is open to the public.  The club will also be holding their Summer Bash 2026 on Saturday, June 13th.  This is their yearly gun bash that’s held outside under the pavilions.  It’s always a nice event, especially on a sunny day.  Finally, here’s a picture of the borough council meeting on February 17th.  That meeting is now famous with the news story on WPXI for the $500 fine for not shoveling snow off your sidewalk.  The council was discussing a draft ordinance, and the $500 number was just a placeholder.  Lots of folks misinterpreted the intent of the draft and got alarmed.  It was just a draft and it’s still being revised.  Stay tuned for more information.  Please look at the flyers below to learn more information about all the events above.  Thanks.

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a great holiday with Santa and now the New Year.  As always, in the case of a new year I have a lot of work associated with getting the website updated for the new year.  There are lots of reoccurring events like borough council meetings, sanitation authority meetings, and such to plug into the calendar.  There are also tables to build for agendas, minutes, police reports, and more.  A few new pages need to be built also.  I’m hoping to get all that done over the next week or so.  I’d like to also do a full review of the information on each page throughout the website during January.  I’ll be getting in touch with the various organizations and folks to verify your information.  Please bear with me in this endeavor.  Thanks, Greg Csehoski.

Here are a couple of updates for the website.  The New Florence Community Library is holding a livestream watch party on January 8th.  This is a free program presented by Ramsey Solutions on “Take Back Your Money”.   Have you ever been to the New Florence Senior Center?  They do a lot of fun activities for the community and now, the center has T-Shirts for sale for only $10.  That’s a great deal and they have a cool logo.  Please stop in and pick one up.  Finally, it’s wintertime and we’ve had storms and bad winds in the area already.  Many folks have lost power for an extended period of time.  FirstEnergy recommends everyone have an emergency kit for just such situations.  Please see the flyers and photos below for more information.  Thanks.
