Mayor

At the 16 January 2024 borough council meeting Ed Craft resigned as mayor.  He was then appointed to borough council.  Here are the Resignation Letter of Mayor Edward Craft – 16 January 2024 and Resolution 2 of 2024, Appointment of Edward Craft to Borough Council that document the change.  Currently the position of mayor is vacant.  More information will be posted as it become available.

During the November 2nd, 2021, municipal election, Michael J. Betts received the most votes for the position of major of New Florence.  Due to personal reasons Mr. Betts decided not to take the position.  Edward Craft was the runner up during the election.  The borough council voted to appoint Ed Craft as the New Florence Mayor at the January 3rd, 2021, biannual reorganization borough council meeting.  Ed Craft took the Oath of Office and is now the mayor.  

The Mayor of New Florence is Edward Craft.  His term expires 5 January 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

E-mail Address & Telephone Number

The mayor, Ed Craft, has a new official email address as of 26 August 2022.  Residents can now reach him at nfboromayor@gmail.com.  He also has a new telephone number in the borough office.  It is 724-235-3140 with voice mail capabilities.

Borough Monthly Meetings

The mayor attends the borough council meetings which are held monthly on the third Tuesday at the borough building located at 119 Franklin Street in New Florence at 7 p.m.  The meetings are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
