At the end of 2025, the previous solicitor for the New Florence borough, Attorney Daniel J. Hewitt, retired from practicing law. The borough wishes Dan well in his new endeavors. Effective 1 January 2026 the borough hired Attorney Toby D. McIlwain to be the new solicitor.

Borough Monthly Meetings
The solicitor attends the borough council meetings which are held monthly on the third Tuesday at the borough building located at 119 Franklin Street in New Florence at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
