Thursday is Thanksgiving.  Please enjoy the holiday, eat well, visit with friends and family, and most importantly, drive safely.  For trivia, consider the historical origin of Thanksgiving is often traced to a 1621 harvest feast between the English Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people in what is now Massachusetts.  After a successful first harvest, the two groups shared a celebratory meal. While this event is considered the “first Thanksgiving,” the modern holiday evolved over time, with national Thanksgiving becoming a holiday in the 19th century, largely due to lobbying by Sarah Josepha Hale and a presidential proclamation by Abraham Lincoln in 1863.
